Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Two Tachinidae a m?le and the female ?

Hello
I've taken this photo the 15/07/2006 ien NE of France, near Metz.
This two flies was to gether on Achillea millefolium, it's looks like to Gymnosoma rotundatum (Linn?), it's a male and a femelle, and which photo is the male ??

Looks like G.rotundatum to me (but there are others that look very similar in mainland Europe eg. nudifrons). If one is a female then I think it should be the one withthe widest frons (second photo) :)

Chris is right
First male, second female

however, the species looks to me like G. nudifrons.
Not sure so, the perspective might fool me.

'This tachinid'? No way !
You have illustrated nicely how much the Gymnosoma are alike.
This is G. dolycoridis, or possibly clavatum, but definitely not nudifrons nor rotundatum. The pruinescense on the scutellum is characteristic.
