Hello
here it looks about the same than what Jürgen remarked in Germany: not many common spring Syrphides as Eristalis tenax and Episyrphus balteatus but these - I take them for Melangyna lasiophthalma - am I right?

I have found it in Slovenia as well, and other similar species are flying much later.

Thank you for answering.
Is the ID sure enough for a picture in the gallery?

Let's wait for a definitive answer. B) Do you have better resolution pictures of the head and thorax?

It's look like Melangyna lasiophtalma.
Similar early species looking like M. lasiophtalma are M. lucifera and smaller M.coei.

Thank you Lucasz Mielczarek!
That is interessting. I have never seen lucifera and coei, not even on the Swiss List (of 2007).

even on the Swiss List (of 2007)
On the Polish checklist (Soszynski,2007) also not listed but present (not publicated) like two other species of Melangyna
:)

Well, I have prepared some pictures for the gallery. Let's see if the administrators accept them.
