About 3-4mm long insect. I found it on a rock, hiding in crevices.
Pictured in Tanzania

It is a beetle. I would place it to somewhere around Tenebrionidae, Tenebrioninae but I know little about beetles.

Certainly Tenebrioninae - if it were less pubescent and had a slightly different headshape, I'd say it was near
Alphitobius, but I really don't know much about the African species

Thanks Tony.
Do you know any African beetle specialists?

I'm not sure who's doing African tenebrionids at present - I'll make some enquiries.
