I would very much appreciate an ID for these ants which are 2 to 3mms long.
I would also be fascinated to understand the relationship between the ants and the
Pseudococcidae sp. which are feeding off
Ipomoea batatas [sweet potato].
The images were taken over the last couple of days in Cairo.

Some small myrmicine ants, it could be Monomorium sp. (maybe M.destructor according to coloration?) or Solenopsis sp. - the photo is not detailed enough for me (I am not dealing with subtropical ants). There are very much tiny species of these genera. Brian certainly could tell more about it.
