Can anyone help to identify this Eristalis please. Taken in May in woodland in the Midlands. Thanks

Hello,
I think Eristalis arbustorum female. But I am not an expert.

Hello,
I would also bet for
E. arbustorum. But don't quote me.

Well, if my eyes donīt deceive me I see the arista with only short hairs, that would mean itīs a female Eristalis abusiva rather than arbustorum!
Greetings

It is a female E. arbustorum. The top ot tibia 2 is black. In E. abusiva it should be the same color as the rest of tibia 2.
