Only this unsharp picture but is genus possible to tell?
In that case perhaps intermedia or fasciata?

Hi Kurt,
My first post, here goes... I think it's...
Diptera > Syrphidae > Didea fasciata (D. fasciata) - No Common Name
Kind of a S. ribesii physically morphed!!!
Any dipteras in your neck of the woods at the moment? I can't wait for the British spring!!!
Take care,
Jason B)

Come on boys, an easy one!
The halteres are clearly visible and they are clearly yellow, so it's for sure a male Didea fasciata!
greetings
