I suppose this is a Syrphidae sp, but I didn't find a match in the gallery. I have one more shot of this individual where the wingpattern is sharp (but not the head). Any chance of an ID? From midwest Sweden in may 2006.
Edit: Changed subject (Syrphidae sp?)

It is a male Eristalis. And becuase the front tarsi are all yellow, it should be pertinax.

Thank you, Maddin. I now have looked at other photos of
Eristalis pertinax and it sure looks like one.

Hello,
It is not very clear, but it seems me that there is a batman-like pattern on the thorax of this fly. Could it be
Myathropa florea?

That?s for shure an Eristalis. Myathropa florea has much more yellow on thorax and abdomen.
