Hi there,

I've looked through the gallery but was unable to find this one. It's a fly alright, isn't it?

Thanks,

Andr

Looks good. I'd say a species of Pandivirilia of the Therevidae, a female, possibly of P. caesia. Please give some additional information on its whereabouts. It is very rare in the Netherlands and presumably in the surrounding countries, too.

Hey Paul,

Found it yesterday near Ruurlo (Gld.) At the rim of an artificially made pool/lake and close to a meadow with cows. Moist, about 12 degrees Celsius, 2 PM. Saw just one and it got away too quick to get it from all sides. I'd say about 20 mm long.

Went back today. Of course I knew chances were slim and alas I couldn't find any. But I'm thrilled I cought it on tape!
Thanks Paul and Theo.
