This Dasysyrphus was found 24 maj 2008 at Skällsjön 62,57N 17,36O Ångermanland, Sweden.

Is it possible that it could be a Dasysyrphus venustus?

Rather have a ventral view and one from the face. Might help.

I have seen this small Dasysyrphus from 22 may until 17 juni on the same location.

This two photos is from other days than the first one.

Last picture shows a male Dasysyrphus venustus, the picture above it is probably a female of the same species but that's not 100% sure....
