Hi,

Can anyone tell me what this is? It looks like something emerging fom a pupa, but I really haven't clue :) As I ecall it wasn't more than a couple of millimetres. Any ideas?

The rather bad photo was taken 8 June 2008 in a forest in Helsingborg, Sweden.

Hi!

This is surely the end of a milliped :) Legs are visible. It may be possible to name a supposed family for it. I'll look after it. Funny picture :)

Best regards,

Walter

Hi! The black thing is itself the milliped: the tail and the last some zonits. Here's a picture from a living specimens back-end:

Could the pinkish mass below the millipede be the work of a parasitic wasp, its cocoon?

I heard of the fly Eginia ocypterata to parasite millipeds, but never seen one, don't know how they sould look like...
