Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Empis?

Hello!

Can this medium sized Empid (about 10 mm) be determined to species level? Thanks! Found yesterday in Ostwestfalen/Germany.

Juergen, I've made so many mistakes in Empididae ID here, so one more doesn't change too much in my bad reputation:D
No, it is Rhamphomyia, I think.

LoL, there is another one I'm afraid: Empis (Xanthempis) cf. punctata. This particular build does not occur in Rhamphomyia, but I must admit that the fork is barely visible in this picture.

Thank you, too! Not easy those Empididae... (For me nearly every family is difficult, yet ;-)).
