Hello Forum,
I think, this one should be a Tachinidae? Right? Is a closer ID possible? Hagen, NRW, Germany, alder marshland, 175 msm, October 7th 2008
Best wishes, Josef

Dear Josef,

Impossible to identify, sorry. Just for the fun of it (habitus+flight time+biotope): Tlephusa cincinna.

Hello Jaakko,
thank you for your approach. What is it, that makes it impossible for ID? Even the genus?!
Best regards, Josef

Hello Josef!

There's quite many tachinid genuses, so that's the problem. This specimen has hairy-eyes, red scutellum but no other specific features are visible. Similar flies can be found in genuses Phryxe, Nilea, Huebneria, Phebellia...

All the best,

Jaakko
