Hello !
This Orthoptera was photographed in Albania (Griba mts., about 1600 m.s.l.), in august, 2006.
Size: ~6-7cm.
Is it identifiable?
Thanks for any ideas.
Greetings,
David

Hello,
It is a beautiful Psorodonotus species. Its species cannot be identified, without preparing its male genitalia and without seeing the cercus, placed at the end of abdomen.
In Balkans 2-3 species are known. Only 9 species are known in the World, which is confined from Balkans, Turkey, Caucasus and S. Russia. Psorodonotus belongs to Platycleini of the family Tettigoniidae.
