Hello,

The fly was running around at Allium ursinum. Because of the running
and the arched posture I thought of Phoridae, but in Fliegen und M?cken (J&H Haupt) it says that Phoridae don't have cross veins.
This one (length about 3 mm) seems to have one, or do I see something wrong ?
The picture is from last week, near Heerlen.

Hi Ben,

It belongs to the family Platypezidae. Maybe one of the others can give you a genus or even species name.

That's nice,

I only knew Polyporivora inornata until now. They indeed look similar, except of the color of course.
Thanks to you both,

Ben
