I found this Weevil in my garden moth trap on 31/08/08.
Tilehurst - Reading - Berks - England.
Can anyone help with the ID please?

Hello, Tony!
This is genus
Curculio, possibly a female of the frequent
C. glandium (breeding on oaks). But I am no expert, and even an expert would most likely need a more detailed photo (especially of the scutellum).

Many thanks for your help.
I have another photograph that might make things clearer!

Hi Tony,
I'd agree with Curculio glandium, which is the one I most frequently see in light-traps. C. venosus also turns up in light-traps but has a longer scutellum.
