Hi, is this shiny black beauty a Muscidae ? September 29. 2008 Helsinki, Finland.

Thank You Paul. I must change the name immidiately :) It is so much larger than my Lonchaeidae specimens so it made me wonder.

I'm not sure this is Lonchaeidae - has more of a muscid jizz, I think - something like Hydrotaea?

Yes, I think female Hydrotaea ignava.

Thank's to all. I do have Hydrotaea ignava male in my collection and it indeed looks a lot like this. Tomorrow after the acetone bath I must try my key :)

EDIT: All characters seems to be correct with ignava, so that shall it be.
