Can anyone confirm this is Prosena siberita? The fly was seen in Tornada, Portugal on the last 8th of August.

Hi Rui,
from what i have readed/learned here.
from specimens i have, i will say it is.
was interesting to see hat when i have meet the species there on two trunks of beech where on/flying around something like more or less 100 specimens. was interesting o see that.
but anyway i think is better to wait a professional opinion.

They seem to like sitting on pale vertical surfaces. While chatting to a friend on a local nature reserve recently I noticed a
Prosena on his leg (old, white corduroy trousers) ... I caught it of course ;) Then seconds later he got another ... and another ... got some photos too, though we were both very glad there were no people walking by at the time :D
