Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae (was Another unknown fly)

July 20th. Southern Norway garden. Only managed one picture from this brief intervention. About 8+mm long I believe it was... Possibly to tell anything about it?

Difficult to say from one photo but the densely hairy eyes; non-protruding mouth edge; orange scutellum; dark legs and light-brown dusting should be clues. I have never caught them in the UK but Senometopia might be worth looking at. But I think Theo might have a much more mundane and logical alternative :D

Indeed, I'd say Carcelia or Senometopia and the ventral seta on tibia 2 seems to be missing, incidating Senometopia.
Which is a very difficult genus (male genitalia).
