Hello,
14th August 2005, Italy, near Rome.
I was thinking about a Platystomatidae, maybe
Platystoma seminationis ?

@Theo, is there only one species of
Platystoma in Italy?
@Pierre, I'll just wait until ID is certain. I have a few other
seminationis pictures waiting, too.

Hi Pierre,
Quite right, it's definitely not
P. seminationis. I'm not sure which of the others it is, but it looks very much like
P. lugubre, though I don't have all species to compare it with.
Best wishes,
John

Hi John,
I think it will stay P. sp.

I think the spots on the posterior edge of the wing are too distinct for
Platystoma lugubre. I think
Platystoma gemmationis is more likely.
