Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Unknown Tabanid

At first this one fooled me as some kind of Eristalinus, because of the eyes and body shape. But the wing venation and antennae are those of a Tabanid. Any idea of the species.

Found yesterday, in a beach in Set?bal, south of Lisbon.
