Hi, this is my first post to the forum. I showed this photo in Finnish insect forum and Kahis(det. of this photo) asked me to post it here, because someone might be interested on this live photo taken in Southern Finland 24.6.2008.

spectacular fungi! adds something odd to the fly. :D it is like adding new bristles. :D

Excellent shot! We very seldom see Laboulbeniales on live flies. This is probably Stigmatomyces psilopae, but I think we would need the specimen to check.

This really is a great picture!

Stigmatomyces it is indeed (Ascomycota, Laboulbeniales). I would say we need the specimen to further identify the exact species. Walter Rossi is also working on Laboulbeniales, specifically with Stigmatomyces.
