Any ideas on what I assume is a biting midge- 1.8mm body length taken yesterday on the underside of a rhododendron leaf in my garden South Coast UK.

Lets hope you don't get bluetongue:o.There seems to be a lot of confusion over this disease.Either more Ceratopogonidae than are listed as vectors are vectors, or the vectors or spreading or the vectors are misidentified or we just don't know.
