Sweden, 12-06-08-Storfors (V?rmland).

Oh and crex, my Swedish is terrible, so I don't think I'll manage reporting everything on Artportalen.:(

Yes it is a Sconopinidae, very likely Scenopinus fenestralis...

of course. you SHOULD do that! :D the wing venation discarded completely syrphids along with the way the wings are inserted. ;) I never saw a scenopinid in the field. :(

No, I've never seen one in the field. Seen them a couple of times living up to their name though, in the corner of a window.

aha. :) yep. that's why they are called window flies. But there are scenopinids in the field as well. ;) Andrade saw some in the field, and surely Steve Gaimari saw a lot. :)
