Hello everybody,
I feel like I haven't learned much for I still am not certain about this one... C. vomitoria? Of am I way off (again?):D

The two things that stand out in this picture are the red face with black beard and the brown basicosta (at the base of the wing). C vomitoria would have a black face with red beard and a black basicosta. My impression is that C vicina is more synanthropic (more likely to be associated with human habitation), more tolerant of warmer temperatures and generally more widespread and common over a longer season - by far the majority of pictures of Calliphora will be C vicina. C vomitoria is not really uncommon, but tends to appear at higher altitudes and/or later in the year - although I would not discount you seeing vomitoria occasionally. I think C vomitoria is probably more picky about where it breeds too.
