This morning I found this large (10-12 mm) fly in a small wooded area near the river Linge at Leerdam, Netherlands. My first thought was Blepharipa pratensis, but unfortunately the fly was gone before I could get pictures of the side and back. Could anyone help with the id?

Thanks in advance!

Female Linnaemyia I think.

I was thinking Linnaemyia (densely hairy eyes, protruding mouth edge, yellow basicosta) but just couldn't think which species it might be :(

Thanks for trying anyway, Chris ;) I'll keep it at Linnaemyia spec. then.

Probably best - unless Theo can suggest something :)
