In a thread at the dipterists forum, here,

I inquired whether a certain fly is a Conopidae or some thing else. A reply suggested I ask over here. All details are at the dipterists forum, click the link above (or cut and paste to the address bar of your browser). All thoughts or comments are welcome.

yes, Conopidae: Stylogaster. It's not very difficult to post images in this forum, it's fine if they've already been posted on flickr, etc.

It is a Stylogaster female (Conopidae)

Thanks, Jens-Hermann, for confirming the ID and that it is female. I will fix up the ID info on the flickr pic shortly.
