Hi,

I caught this fly as part of a swarming group on my sunny balcony today in Los Angeles, California. I hope someone can help identify it (even to family level). This fly is about 5 mm long.

I still have this guy, so I can check for other features if need be. I couldn't find any keys on the web that would help me with this -- that info would also be useful.

I think it may be in the Milichiidae family.
