Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Rhagio 1+2: scolopaceus or strigosus?

Hello!

Rhagio strigosus is very abundant here in our garden, but normally in late summer and autumn. But these females seemed very small for R. scolopaceus, which was numerously around here in the last weeks, only 7-8 mm. Or is this still another species? May-31, northwest Germany.

First pic should be scolopaceus.

And strigosus is a summer species, as well noted by yourself.

Not much more summer possible than today... ;) 31 ?C in the shade this noon.

In my malaisetraps, I have the last Rh. scolopaceus for this year last week. I'll expect you'll get rid of scolopaceus very soon.
