Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Hercostomus fuscipennis > Dolichopodidae (copula)

Hello!

These flies occupied the blossoms of Euphorbia sp. They were by the dozen on this plants mating, feeding etc. Wide pasture in Hungary, with lots of blossoming Euphorbia.
Small sized ~4-5mm? (20th of May 2008). I hope someone able to identify it.

Last year this species was published in Diptera.Info under the name Poecilobothrus sp. Now I see that the most probable version is
Hercostomus fuscipennis (Meigen, 1824) [Dolichopus] *
