Hullo. What tachinid is this?
It's 9mm to the tip of the abdomen.
At 1000 metres above sea level.
Malaysia.

It is either Prosena siberita or close. I know this species occurs in Japan. But there may be more species in south-eastern Asia.

I agree - I'd commit as far as Prosena but I am pretty sure that in the oriental region there are many more species than siberita :( Lovely photos though :D

According to Crosskey (1976), there are only 3 oriental Prosena:
* fulvipes from Indonesia and ? Malaysia.
If the name is any good, can't be this one
* facialis from India, only holotype, and
and... and..
* siberita,
widespread in Oriental region, Malaysia included.

So my bets are on siberita.
