Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Very distinctive Chironomid

Hello!

I know that it normally is not possible to determine a Chironomid after a photo. But this one really looks very distinctive :). At light in garden, May-16, northwest Germany. Length about 5 mm.

My guess is that this is Microtendipes pedellus (as always with chironomids, it's safer to examine genitalia for identification)

Thanks a lot! A species name, even if not 100% sure, is more than I expected :).
