Hello!

This fly from our garden two days ago (northwest Germany) was very bee like - but only when flying! Even the sound resembled that of a bee ;), and it was stretching its forelegs out, so that they were looking very like a bee's antennae! When it seemed to be interested in the solitary bee nesting block, I was quite sure it was an Apid - until it sat down... Is it a Brachypalpus laphriformis male? Length about 10 mm.
