Hello
there are no stripes on the thoracic dorsum, but isn't it E.flava anyway? On Acer campestre at Lake Thun CH 10.05.2008

Well, normally flava has yellow bands on the abdomen which are broader than in this one.
I would say more likely a female Epistrophe melanostoma.

I had thought the face was to pale, but when you say melanostoma and with the help of photoshop I can make out the black mouth edge. Thank you for helping!
