Hi,
is there any chance to derminate this Brachyopa?
I found this female in Germany (NRW/Ennepetal) placing eggs at a spruce on a clear cutting in the near of a riparian forest.

A female Brachyopa panzeri or dorsata!
Panzeri if the third antennal segment has a large sensory pit, dorsata if it's small.
I can't see a pit very well, so I would guess a female Brachyopa dorsata!
greetings

Hallo Gerard,
Many thanks! Brachyopa dorsata is more infrequently in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) than Brachyopa panzeri and this species is not reported out of this region (Bergisches Land).
