Hello Forum,

is this a Polyetes spec? What else?

Data: Hagen (NRW, Germany), May 4th 2008, artificial alder marshland, 175 m above NN, metal fence around the area

I think this is not Polietes. Could be a female Muscina. Note that the tip of the scutellum is normally red in this species. The lack of the red spot may indicate that this is a rather atypical individual or that this is a different species. A lateral shot would help further to nail the genus.

I aggree with Josef, P.lardarius (P.meridionalis is at my experience late species).

The M-Cu is not enough slanted and only 2 post ac. I think it's Phaonia.
