I saw several Gonia today in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen (Theo will know the area!) in the Netherlands. (It's dry coastal dunes, where water is prepared from tap water.) Earlier I've seen Gonia ornata, but these look a bit different: more blackish. Is this just wear and tear?

another picture - there were some 5 flies constant chasing each other at the top of a dune: hill topping??

Gonia ornata can be black, but more likely this is G. picea.
Rather rare in the dunes, it replaces ornata inland.

For comparison two others, slightly different place (2 km maybe).
How sure is the ID of picea, btw?
