Location: Hungary
Habitat: garden
Size: ~5-6mm
Date: 2008-04-29.

It is a small fly sun-bathed on a flower (Iris sp).

Given the size (quite big for a Lonchaeid) small antennae, partly yellow tarsomeres and very braod frons I would suggest it is a female Dasiops latifronsMeigen - a common European species..... Iain

Thank you very much. It could be smaller than 5-6mm because I guess my estimate might had been too optimist.
