Hi,
Our conifers are favourite resting places for flies at the moment; the
Taxus is full of Syrphids. One of them is shown here. I'm sorry I could not take a pic from above. Nevertheless I suppose this is a male of
Epistrophe eligans. The yellow spots are not clearly seen, but males are said to often have only indistinct ones. Do you agree?
