Hello!

It is a rather bigger sized empidid, found amongst dense vegetation, vineyard and pot-gardens nearby. Could it be determinable more closely?

This fly seems to be extremely common. I saw one flowering bush with thousands of them. Most had captured a Bibio marci, a small fraction Bibio cf varipes and interestingly Empis (E.) chiipterus.
