Dear Forum,

I took this picture in my garden this morning. It was warming up on the bark of a tree. Length ~12 mm. Can it be further identified?

Should be a male of Bibio marci like mine :)(http://www.dipter...d_id=12321).

Thank you for your reply. I had seen your thread and thought it might be the same. But the more threads and pictures I see the more uncertain I become. Furthermore your reply has not received an anwer yet...

Perhaps because these flies are so typical and common in spring that everybody should know them without asking? :D
