A 7-8 mm male from a sloe hedge yesterday (northwest Germany).
Melangyna species?

This is a very fresh specimen with the colours still not fully developed. The differences in the shade of the colours are without taxonomic meaning.

Thanks, Dieter! Maybe laymen like me lay too much weight in colours and other easily visible attributes... But after hundreds of white marked
Scaeva pyrastri I was happy, when I found my first
S. selenitica here. ;)
