Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae, Gonia picea from Romania

HI,

last fly from 8.april.2008.
seen several exemplary (one collected), in photo two different specimens.

found on the ground, one on log covered with mud, near a Fagus forest (~650m).

size ~12mm.

after the wide front his will some kind of Gonia or near, can be IDed furter?

Should be G. picea, but it looks kind of strange. Can't be sure without frontal shot (yes I know, I always demand laterals, very nicely done here, and now I need a frontal....)

no frontal view of live exemplary bu maybe this is enough.
the exemplary is collected if something more needed.
