Hi,

Some time ago I posted here a photo of female Ischiodon aegyptius see here: http://www.dipter...post_41384

Here again I found this other female Ischiodon. It's a bit bigger 10mm vs about 7mm and the tip of abdomen looks different. also ventral side is yellow with two black dots opposite to the first which has yellow black stripe but I'm not sure if it's not becuase it had been dried and know it is possible to see the dorsal segments

Do you this it is still I.aegyptius or could be another sp. of the same genus?

Hi zcuc,

The yellow markings are somewhat variable in Ischiodon.
The only species occuring in the Western Palearctic and Africa is I. aegyptius.
