Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Red Chironomidae

I took this image in the Pine Barrens of NJ. Suburban neighborhood built into mostly pine forest, mixed with grass yards, oak, and an adjoining golf course. Can this be identified beyond Chironomidae? Thanks for your help.

As it is a female I doubt you'll get much further...
