Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Ephydridae, not Tephritidae

Hi,
Today I met a very small fly sitting on the house wall. Only by strong magnification of the photos I found that it had checkered wings and thus could be a Tephritid. Though the detail pics are very bad because of the overmagnification I would like to show them. Perhaps the experts recognize the fly nevertheless.
Thanks in advance, Sundew

It is Ephydridae.
Scatophila (or Limnellia), I think.

I can confirm it's no Tephritid.
And I think Nikita is right with Ephydridae, where my knowledge ends...

Ah - in Juergen's forum I found identical photos (even on the same background - white house wall!) of
Limnellia quadrata. I have no doubt that mine is the same species. Many thanks, Nikita and John!
