Hello,
Today the midges were dancing in the afternoon sun and I went out to find
Bibio marci, but in vain. Instead, there were many very small flies that seemed to be Chironomids. I learned that the early spring species belong to
Chaetocladius and
Trissocladius, so perhaps a labelling of my pics is possible? They are not very good, as the midges were too small for my camera. Nevertheless their yellow abdomina are recognizable, which might be important for naming.
