Dear Forum,

Can anyone identify this aphid from this rather bad picture, taken March 13th in my glasshouse? Genus level would be fine.

Best regards,
Niek

Maybe a Brevicoryne brassicae (Cabbage aphid), they are abundant in spring (and cause damage...)

Hello,

In my files, Brevicoryne brassicae is rather whitish (on cabbage and raps). See for instance : http://www.galeri...-18937.htm.

On the other hand, it seems that whe had this greenish stripe on two tergites on this forum not so far away. Maybe I will be able to remember the exact post.

Dear Pierred,

When I surfed on the internet with this name this morning I also found several pictures where the aphids appeared to be whitish, dull green, and some where they appeared to be somewhat brighter green.
The Dutch name means, literally translated, "Floury" (meaning powdered with flour) cabbage aphid...
I am by no means an expert and do not always trust information which I find on the internet. Therefore I hope that you or any other forum member can clarify this.

Cordialement, Niek
