Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae - Anthomyia cf. pluvialis?

Only this photo... is it possible to be sure about pluvialis? Or would it be possible only with scutum and scutellum photos?

I can't be certain but I think it might be Anthomyia quinquemaculata. I base this on the slight indentation of the hind margin of the lateral postsutural black spot; the mid tibia (just shown) without an anterior dorsal seta, and I presume that the fly was caught in Portugal. Certain identification of the male only by examination of the lateral view of sternite V which has strongly projecting membranous lobes on each proccess. A. quinquemaculata is found in Europe only in the south.

yes. This fly is from Portugal. I took this photo near Viseu.
