Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Not Urophora, but what ?

Hello,

It resembles *Urophora jaceana*, but the scutellum is black rather than pale.

I can't figure it out and have run out of good ideas!

Do you have any?

The actual question is how it was killed and then --- where it is from.
Otherwise. it can be either jaceae or, less possible, solstitialis

Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention the context!

Specimen captured alive using a sweep net in Moutiers-au-Perche (Orne, France). A 4.5 mm female (7 mm including the ovipositor). It was then frozen prior to identification. No idea about the host plant, if there is one.

What is surprising is the black scutellum. If it is *Urophora jaceana*, the specimen would be aberrant!
