Eventhough the weather here up in NW Spain is'nt by far pleasent, I have seen today quite some species: Syrphus, tachinids, muscids and small bibio. Among these these I localed this Empis which was quite frequent in a small marshland forest. I wa sonly able to take two pictures, this one was taken just before the specimen flew away.
I found her on a mossy ground, other specimens were observed on thistles, grassland and on flowers (Umbeliferae).
Sized about 10 mm. Photo taken today in a river mouth at Samil-Vigo (Spain) at sea level.
Is it possible with this shot to get up to genus at least??
Thanks for your help.

Rafael, I don't think you need help in genus ID (because Empis is correct).
Ask for species level ID! But not me, alas :(
